ABOUT US

Our club provides competitive and social netball opportunities for all participants who want to play, umpire or coach, and welcome all ages and levels of experience and ability.

Our club values friendship, community spirit, teamwork and respect to all members – from our volunteers to our umpires and parents. Our junior players come from schools across the North Shore and beyond and this provides a great opportunity for them to make new friends outside school. Many of our senior players have played for Willoughby United since they were 7 years old and it is great to see second (and even third!) generation players joining our club each year.

Our Volunteers and Life Members are active and engaged members in our organisation, and we are grateful and thankful for their outstanding contributions to the development of netball with us. Without their support we wouldn’t be able to do what we do!

Willoughby United Netball Club history:

Our club started over 50 years ago. In 1969, Willoughby Council were concerned that there weren't enough opportunities for females to play sport in the local area so they advertised for netball players.  16 girls turned up to the first training session and Willoughby United was born!  Since then, thousands of women and girls have been a part of Willoughby United and we are proud of every one of them.

In the 2021 season we had over 250 players in 27 teams ranging from NetSetGo (7 year olds) to A2 in seniors.

Basic info at a glance:

• Willoughby United is part of the Northern Suburbs Netball Association and fields teams of all ages in the Winter competition.

• ​Competition games are played at Bicentennial Reserve netball courts (Small St, Willoughby

• Club training is held on Wednesday nights at Bicentennial Reserve netball courts

  • NetSetGo (ages 7-9): 5pm - 6pm

  • Juniors (ages 10-15): 6pm - 7pm

  • Seniors (ages 15+): 7pm - 8pm at teams discretion
